Overview
This pixel protocol is adopted by many pixel manufacturers, and uses the standard differential DMX512 protocol to drive pixel chips.
Note: This protocol refers to a differential, dual wire, DMX512 pixel chip. There are DMX512 protocols that use a single line for data, which are also supported - see the protocol DMX512 for more information.
Connecting to a PixLite Pixel Controller
PixLite Mk3 pixel controllers can drive differential DMX512 pixels, as well as single-wire serial DMX512 pixels. Single wired DMX512 pixels can connect like a standard Data-Only protocol. Differential DMX512 pixels require connection of an additional data wire. This pinout is shown below.

DMX Addressing
Unlike standard pixel protocols which are effectively self-addressing, DMX512 pixel protocols often require each pixel to be given an address, similar to a traditional DMX fixture. This is usually pre-set at the factory in the pixels themselves, by using an addressing tool, external to PixLite.

DMX512-D Chips
There are many pixel chips that use a dual-wire, differential DMX512 protocol as the data source. Known examples of these are listed below, including each chip's supported speed. This is useful to know when configuring your PixLite Mk3 controller, which supports a wide speed range of 100 - 2500 kbps.
